Main Stage Info (Updated 8/27/21)
- There are masking legs/skirts stage left and right that do not move. They are not on tracks.
- Dimensions of the stage are 37 feet wide (visible to the audience) by 16 feet deep (front edge to back curtain).
- Do not touch the fly system. If there is an issue, you must work with the Festival Stage Manager. Any troupe that damages the fly system will be responsible for financial damages to Cypress Bay High School.
- Unit set will be on stage left. Troupes may pre-set the unit set pieces to the wings and leave them there until the Technical judge indicates "Time Begins Now"
- Due to limited movement space backstage SL, troupes will strike to the wings and then indicate "WE ARE CLEAR" to the technical judge.
- A Grand Piano is available for any troupe that needs it. Your troupe's stage manager should make this request with the Festival Stage Manager at the morning or afternoon Technical/Stage Manager meeting.
- Two dressing rooms are backstage (with a restroom in each), one for the current show onstage, one for the next. Each troupe will have 10 minutes following judges' comments to clear the dressing room for the next troupe. Failure to clear within 10 minutes will result in a $50 fine for delaying the festival.
- Backstage storage space will be provided for all participating troupes to place their costumes, props, etc. Clothing racks will not be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own.
- Judges comments will be given PRIVATELY in the adjacent chorus room, which is connected to the theatre backstage.
- The mid-stage traveler will serve as the back of the playing space for our one-act competition.
- Lighting: There will be 6 main areas of light: DSL/DC/DSR and USL/UC/USR; along with complete stage washes in two colors: one warm/one cool
- Sound: There will be a sound system to include a minimum of one hand held microphone, a CD/MP3 player, and communications system (3 wireless headsets).
