Welcome back to live, IN-PERSON Thespian festivals!
The International Thespian Society is recognized by the National Association of Secondary School Principals as an honor society for theatre arts students. The Society promotes theatre education through a variety of events. Florida State Thespians, an affiliate of the Educational Theatre Association, offers middle and high school students an opportunity to present their theatrical skills and abilities in a safe, supportive environment.
While participating in the events at the festivals, our Thespians are adjudicated by theatre and education professionals, many of whom are published experts in their field. Although our festivals have a competitive nature, the ultimate goal for our participants is self-improvement rather than an accumuluation of trophies and medals.
Any school (public, private, or charter) is eligible to charter a troupe and attend the festivals, provided they meet the same deadlines and registration requirements as all other troupes in the District.
Interested theatre teachers may begin the process of chartering a new troupe here:

District 12 serves the middle school Jr. Thespian troupes of Broward County, Florida. While the majority of our troupes are located within southern Broward County, there is no specific geographic border that separates District 12 from District 3.
Florida State Thespian Society, Inc. does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), national origin (ancestry), gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, disability, marital status, or military status in any of its activities or operations.
